Czechia drew 1–1 with South Africa at Atlanta Stadium in Group A. Michal Sadilek struck after just six minutes — the fastest goal of the tournament to that point — finishing Alexandr Sojka's clever first-time touch from Adam Hlozek's cross to give Miroslav Koubek's side a first-half lead.

South Africa pressed after the break and were rewarded when Teboho Mokoena converted an 83rd-minute penalty after Pavel Sulc was penalised for handball. Ladislav Krejci was named Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match as Czechia finished with 38% possession, 14 shots and three on target in front of 67,442 fans.

Both sides are on one point in Group A after two matches. Czechia face Mexico in Mexico City on 24 June, while South Africa meet Korea Republic in Monterrey on the same evening.
