Kane Double Pegged Back as England Draw with Croatia in Dallas

England drew 2–2 with Croatia at Dallas Stadium in Thomas Tuchel's first World Cup match in charge. Harry Kane converted a retaken penalty in the 12th minute after Dominik Livaković had saved his first effort, Martin Baturina levelled with a long-range strike in the 36th minute, and Kane restored England's lead with a header from Declan Rice's corner four minutes before the break.

Petar Musa equalised in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time after Ivan Perisic's lay-off, leaving the score 2–2 at half-time with no further goals in the second period. Kane drew level with Gary Lineker on 10 England World Cup goals as Croatia twice punished defensive lapses despite England finishing with 48% possession, nine shots and two on target.

England and Croatia share the lead in Group L on one point. The Three Lions face Ghana in Boston on 23 June, while Croatia meet Panama in Toronto on the same evening.
