The match was the first at this World Cup interrupted by severe weather, with a two-hour lightning delay between halves, and Amir Al-Ammari was booked in the sixth minute for fouling Mbappé.

France join Norway on six points at the top of Group I and face the Vikings in Foxborough on 26 June to decide who tops the group. Iraq remain bottom with zero points and must beat Senegal on the final matchday, though qualification is already beyond them.
