Yamal and Oyarzabal Fire Spain to 4–0 Win Over Saudi Arabia

Spain beat Saudi Arabia 4–0 at Atlanta Stadium to record their first win at the 2026 World Cup. Lamine Yamal slid in Mikel Oyarzabal's cross on 10 minutes for his first World Cup goal, Oyarzabal added two close-range finishes in the 21st and 24th minutes to make it 3–0 at half-time, and Hassan Altambakti turned Marc Cucurella's saved volley into his own net on 49 minutes after Mohammed Al-Owais had parried the initial effort.
Mikel Oyarzabal was named Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match after his brace and the assist for Yamal's opener, as La Roja responded to their shock 0–0 draw with Cabo Verde. Spain finished with roughly 67% possession, 20 shots and nine on target while Saudi Arabia managed three attempts and one on target. Ferran Torres had a stoppage-time strike ruled out for offside after a lengthy VAR review.
The result lifts Spain to four points at the top of Group H. A point against Uruguay on 26 June would secure a last-32 place, while Saudi Arabia remain on one point and must beat Cabo Verde in Houston on the same evening to keep their knockout hopes alive.
