Brazil and Morocco drew 1–1 at New York New Jersey Stadium in the standout Group C fixture of matchday one. Ismael Saibari chipped Alisson after a pass from Brahim Díaz to give Morocco a 21st-minute lead, but Vinícius Júnior equalised 11 minutes later after exchanging passes with Bruno Guimarães and curling past Yassine Bounou.

Morocco outshot Brazil 14–12 and Alisson produced a late double save from Neil El Aynaoui to preserve a point for Carlo Ancelotti's side. Vinícius Júnior was named Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match in front of 80,663 fans.

Both teams sit on one point in Group C behind Scotland, who beat Haiti 1–0 later on Saturday. Brazil face Haiti in Philadelphia on 19 June, while Morocco meet Scotland in Foxborough on the same day.
