Larin Rescues Draw as Canada Earn First World Cup Point

Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina drew 1–1 at Toronto Stadium in the first men's FIFA World Cup match ever played in Canada. Jovo Lukić headed Bosnia in front in the 21st minute after Sead Kolašinac flicked on Ivan Bašić's corner, but substitute Cyle Larin levelled with 12 minutes remaining, converting Promise David's pass to secure Les Rouges' first point in World Cup history.
Bosnia and Herzegovina led 1–0 at half-time in front of 43,002 fans. Canada dominated possession with 61% and outshot their opponents 13–8, though both sides managed four and three shots on target respectively. Ismaël Koné was named Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match for his energy in midfield across the full 90 minutes.
The draw leaves Group B wide open with Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina on one point apiece ahead of Qatar vs Switzerland on Saturday. Canada head to Vancouver to face Qatar on 18 June, while Bosnia and Herzegovina meet Switzerland in Los Angeles on the same day.
