Norway beat Senegal 3–2 at New York New Jersey Stadium to secure a place in the World Cup last 32 with a game to spare. Substitute Marcus Holmgren Pedersen capitalised on a Kalidou Koulibaly error to open the scoring in the 43rd minute, Erling Haaland struck either side of Ismaïla Sarr's 53rd-minute reply with finishes on 48 and 58 minutes, and Sarr set up a nervy finish with a composed stoppage-time goal on 90+3.

Haaland was named Michelob Ultra Superior Player of the Match after taking his tournament tally to four goals in front of 80,663 fans. Norway finished with 42% possession but seven shots on target from 13 attempts to Senegal's four from 16 as Stale Solbakken's side held on despite late pressure, with no cards shown in a disciplined contest.

Norway join France on six points at the top of Group I and face Les Bleus in Foxborough on 26 June to decide the group winner. Senegal remain without a point and must beat Iraq heavily on the final matchday while hoping other results go their way to advance as one of the best third-placed teams.
