Senegal beat Iraq 5–0 at Toronto Stadium to keep their hopes of advancing as one of the best third-placed teams alive. Habib Diarra opened the scoring inside four minutes from Abdoulaye Seck's header, Rebin Sulaka was sent off for denying Sadio Mané a clear goalscoring opportunity on 13 minutes, and the Lions of Teranga added four more after the break.
Ismaila Sarr tapped in after Lamine Camara won the ball on 56 minutes, Pape Gueye curled in twice either side of the hour mark, and Iliman Ndiaye added a fifth with a long-range strike on 82 minutes. Pape Thiaw's side finished with 69% possession, 28 shots and 12 on target to Iraq's six and one in front of 43,036 fans, with Gueye named Superior Player of the Match.
Senegal finish third in Group I on three points with a +2 goal difference and wait to see if that is enough for a last-32 berth. France top the group with a perfect nine points and Norway finish second. Iraq are eliminated without a point after conceding 12 goals in three matches.
